Position Description:
  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
  • Performs statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes and writes narrative reports explaining findings. Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, capital and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial positions for other managers.
  • Determines proper handling of financial transactions, and reclassifies expenditures and miscellaneous receipts according to supporting documentation.
  • Monitors compliance with statutory accounting principles, generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Proficient with Microsoft Windows, Office, Word, Access, Outlook and Excel.

Prefer experience with Wings (Eagle), Sungard, Inspire (CGI) and Freedom statutory/insurance software packages. Experience with accounting for reinsurance and/or statutory reporting of reinsurance. Knowledge of Property and Casualty annual statement.
