NOTICE: Information from USF Insurance Company regarding a Canadian check scam.

USF Insurance Company has been advised of a Canadian check scam. The scam involves the creation of fraudulent checks that are made to look as though they were issued from USF Insurance Company. If you receive a check that appears to be from USF Insurance Company, along with the following letter or e-mail, do not deposit the check.

You should contact USF Insurance Company directly by mail, e-mail, fax, or telephone, through the contact page on our web site, as well as your local FBI office. In addition, you can contact Canadian authorities at info@phonebusters.com.

USF Insurance Company is not involved, in any way, with this scam. The company is taking steps to thwart this scam, and has notified law enforcement agencies in an effort to identify the perpetrators.
